World Village of Women Sports is a long-desired and important venture. There is a demand for research in this area and the ambitions are set high. The sport science research and development centre beiing built up in Malmö will fire the starting shot for an entirely new undertaking. Traditional male sporting norms are questioned with the intension of finding new training methods and ways of thinking, starting from women´s own prerequisities.

World Village of Womens Sports blurs the dividing lined between different sports. In this spirit, there is the possibility of learning from the experiences of other sports and identifying commen objectives, regardless of the type of sport and level ambition. The preconditions for women´s sporting activities from a multidisciplinary perspective will be the subject of investigation. This is unique.

The research undertaken the World Village of Women Sports will cover:
• Socio-economic conditions and how they can be improved.
• Health care issues,preventing illness and injuries, treatment and rehabilitation.
• Evaluation of sustainable preconditions for women´s sport in relation to social integration.
• Performance development with basis in nutrition, biology and psychology.
• Development of equipment and materials.
World Village of Women Sports is open to far-reaching collaboration within sport science in the Öresund region. Research that aimes to play an influential role in the international arena.
